Acme Ring Turret System

The Acme Ring Turret System is a flexible light machine gun weapons platform designed primarily for secondary vehicle defense and support.
The system is modular and as such affords four basic methods of deployment.
1) Vehicular mounted and interfaced
In this mode, the ring turret is affixed to the vehicle roof
opening. Although designed to the dimensions of the observer
hatch in the Pinzgauer 710K with zero modification to the
vehicle, the turret can be adapted to almost any other vehicle.

The turret system is articulated in three axis via a driver or observer manipulated proportional joystick control. The system is all-electric and automatic position locks secure the mount for uncanny accuracy during sustained fire. Range of motion enables targeting of ground and airborne objectives.
Target acquisition is made through the use of direct visual contact, heads-up monocular, and a cockpit mounted video display of target information from a weapons mounted video imager. Real-time target solutions are provided with the unique ability to fine tune the electronic reticle.
Night and low light capability are possible through the use of a 12 million CP illumininator with the optional use of an infrared filter. Illumination control of focus, intensity and strobe mode (used to disorient a subject.) are resident on the joystick handle.

Video control of zoom, resolution, exposure, contrast, reticle manipulation, and many other user functions are also resident on the joystick control assembly.
Fire control is from the joystick, as well with a deadman segment on the operator handle to prevent inadvertent firing or mount manipulation. Left or right hand operation is possible..
2) In the same vehicle configuration, should the enemy disable the electric function, a manual manipulated rifle system carried onboard can be fitted rapidly, with unique geodesic armor and the system can continue to engage targets with a soldier standing in the turret.
3) The turret ring can be removed from the vehicle and fitted with ground mount legs providing a remote capable 360-degree ground mount with all the electronic features listed above. Since the system is modular, all control gear and displays are capable of rapid transition of these roles.
4) The ground-mounted configuration can also be fitted with the manual rifle system with armor.
The mount system has recoil control and is isolated from optics, lighting and firing gear. A unique scissors-action third axis traverse control enables extreme fine traverse select ability. A manual charge handle is fitted to the mount to chamber the first round or clear a mis-fire.
Currently, this system has been tested with the Browning .30 cal, the MG42, and the Russian PKT. Ammunition feed, link and spent shell collection are all provided. The Browning rifle is available in 30.06, .308, and 8mm semi or full auto for qualified buyers.
This system has many other features too numerous to mention in this brief description. Many refinements are underway at this time. Finished models will be available for deployment in Spring of 2009.

Russian PKT TWIN
This twin was developed to address the many problems that the
mounting of multiple machine guns present. Among those are
alignment, convergence, climb, feed and discharge, access and
yaw induction of tandem operation.
The twins are paired in an over and under configuration, upper
rifle forward, allowing ease of feed and discharge while
eliminating climb of the assembly. Yaw is not possible with this
mounting.
Convergence is regulated with an indexable upper mount which is
micro-adjustable in the horizontal and vertical planes. The
upper rifle swings aside allowing access to the top cover of the
lower rifle.
The twins are adapted to the exquisite MG-3 mount and are
electrically fired. Power supply and charging system is
installed in the original optics box.
A forth leg is added to the mount to offset the weight of 500
rounds of ammo.
This system functions flawlessly without sandbagging.
